Championship helps Meek to help others with her HOPE Foundation

Media_http2bpblogspot_bpked
Nice article on Temeka Johnson's return to Phoenix this weekend to be honored at the Sun's game against Golden State. Here are some excerpts:

I asked Temeka if it was everything she thought it would be, "It's that and more to be honest. It's amazing what winning a championship does and I'm not just talking about how well we played together as a team and how we came together. What it's done for so many other people, that's what's important to me."

Johnson has spent the last few weeks in her home state of Louisiana where she's used the power of her victory to continue to raise money and help others through her HOPE Foundation.

Seimone Rehab Progress Report

Media_http4bpblogspot_ucbap
We came across a great article on Seimone with a question and answer in regard to her rehab and process and we are all so pleased to hear that things are going great! Thanks to Lynxbasketball.com

LB: What can you say to the fans to thank them for their support? I'm sure you've gotten letters, flowers…

SA: I've gotten everything. I really can't say enough. I love the fans here; From the times when they're getting on me because I'm not playing well, to the support they've given me through my situation. I've gotten cards, flowers, letters… Even at the games they'll stop by. They'll say a few words. I don't know if they know, but it means a lot when you're going through something that you've never experienced before. It means a lot. Just to hear people say 'I can't wait to have you back.' It uplifts me and gets me looking forward to coming back next year and working harder.

JumpOnTheVanWagon.com

Media_http2bpblogspot_qrrbf
Just as we promised -- here's Phase II or our new marketing strategy. It is a new website to help promote Lady Tiger Basketball and will have a lot of entertaining venues for the fans as well as updating them on everything going on with the team, on and off the court. Again, we want to thank Craig Pintens, Tom Harlukowicz and Jason Feirman and all their staffs for the work on the website and van.

It is up and running and only a click away:

The new website focuses on the excitement of LSU’s season and it will be updated on a continuous basis. JumpOnTheVanWagon.com includes a video featuring the 2009-10 Lady Tigers and head coach Van Chancellor, ticket options, a promotional schedule and links to all of the Lady Tigers social media outlets (Twitter, The Lady Tiger Way Blog). One of the unique features of the website is that fans will be able to upload photos of Lady Tiger games from their mobile phones and cameras onto the website.

“JumpOnTheVanWagon.com is an exciting and interactive platform for Lady Tiger fans,” said Tom Harlukowicz, Marketing and Group Tickets Coordinator at LSU. “It will definitely get everyone anxious for the upcoming season.”

The Van Wagon Has Arrived!

It here! The Van Wagon has arrived! There's been a lot of buzz around town about Lady Tiger's new catch phrase: Jump on the Van Wagon but did you know there was going to actually be a Van Wagon? It just arrived today! It's the brainchild of our Marketing Department, specifically Craig Pintens and Tom Harlukowicz and arrived on campus only hours ago.

The van was donated by Super Chevy Dealers, the official vehicle of the Lady Tigers. Wrapped in decorative purple and gold graphics and including a portrait Coach Chancellor, the van will make its first public appearance this Sunday, Nov. 1 at the Mall of Louisiana when the Lady Tigers host their annual “Mall Ball.”

The van will be used in a variety of ways that includes transporting Coach Chancellor and the team to various community service projects including our GPA program in East Baton Rouge Parish. There will also be a number of contests involving the Van Wagon and who can locate it around the city. Stay tuned for details.

In fact, stay tuned this weekend because the Van Wagon is only the Part I of this new "promotional highway" -- Part II will be just as exciting!!!
