The Van Wagon Has Arrived!

It here! The Van Wagon has arrived! There's been a lot of buzz around town about Lady Tiger's new catch phrase: Jump on the Van Wagon but did you know there was going to actually be a Van Wagon? It just arrived today! It's the brainchild of our Marketing Department, specifically Craig Pintens and Tom Harlukowicz and arrived on campus only hours ago.

The van was donated by Super Chevy Dealers, the official vehicle of the Lady Tigers. Wrapped in decorative purple and gold graphics and including a portrait Coach Chancellor, the van will make its first public appearance this Sunday, Nov. 1 at the Mall of Louisiana when the Lady Tigers host their annual “Mall Ball.”

The van will be used in a variety of ways that includes transporting Coach Chancellor and the team to various community service projects including our GPA program in East Baton Rouge Parish. There will also be a number of contests involving the Van Wagon and who can locate it around the city. Stay tuned for details.

In fact, stay tuned this weekend because the Van Wagon is only the Part I of this new "promotional highway" -- Part II will be just as exciting!!!

LADY TIGERS BECOME VIDEO STARS

Media_http1bpblogspot_xhfkd
COACH LANDERS (9-12-09):

Another video shoot today! Part of the new promotion blitz being put together by our Marketing staff. It's really exciting stuff and I think the players are really enjoying their role as actresses! Today's shoot took place in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. We had some shots in the locker room, the hallway of our complex and on the main floor. Today's stars included Allison, Boogie and KG. I really can't wait to see the final production!

BENGAL BELLES AND LADY TIGERS TEAM UP TO FIGHT BREAST CANCER

COACH CHANCELLOR (10-9-09):
Today I had a wonderful opportunity to speak to the Bengal Belles. They are an amazing and powerful group of women that have had a tremendous impact on LSU and the Baton Rouge community. Bob (Starkey) was telling me all the amazing work they've done throughout the years and he came up with the idea of getting them involved in our Pink Zone Game which this year will be played on February 18 against Vanderbilt. Each year we play a game to promote Breast Cancer Awareness. It's a wonderful event! If you've been you've noticed our players wear pink uniforms and our staff coaches in pink tennis shoes. There's also a lot of other neat things involved. Last year, Coach Starkey and his wife Sherie (a breast cancer survivor) donated a $1 for every student that attended to the Kay Yow Foundation. We are so excited about having the Bengal Belles on board with this because first they are amazing successful in all the projects that associate with and second, this is a cause that they can relate to and rally around. I love it when a TEAM comes together for a common cause.

MORE ON THE VIDEO SHOOT...YOUR LADY TIGERS HAD A LOT OF FUN!

COURTNEY JONES (10-9-09):
Well, there is no doubt that our team has a lot of personality. Whether it is before practices or any workout, the team is always entertaining to watch but I just could not stop laughing at my teammates at our team photo shoot. During the photo shoot we were required to show our creative sides to our fans. You know show them what life is like with us off the court. We danced, sang and did imitations of Coach Chancellor. I must say that the sophomores did the best job. We all danced in a Soul Train line and in my opinion we should the most enthusiasm. We even saw Destini come out of her shell and dance a little. It was very funny (Love you Destini).

These times to me are the best besides eating at Coach Chancellor’s house. We all forget about our issues, practices and school and just sit around bonding with each other. You can tell by the looks on everyone’s faces that they really enjoy it as much as I did.

BOOGIE BARRETT (10-9-09):
The video shoot was great, we got to tell some information on teammates, like who is the best dancer, who studies the most, etc. Sophomores were the best dancing squad because we did a soul train line to showcase our best dance moves.

FUN WITH A VIDEO SHOOT

NICCI KELLY (10-8-09):
The video shoot was great. Everyone had an opportunity to dance, sing, and just have fun. I especially enjoyed the Christmas caroling; it made me ready to celebrate the holiday season already :)

TAYLOR BOOZE (10-8-09):
Today we had a video shoot with the team. It was a first for me and it was definitely a lot of fun! We all had the chance to act silly and really let our personalities show & even had to do a couple of dance moves! It should be pretty nice when its all put together. So JUMP ON THE VAN WAGON and make sure to check it out!! GEAUX TIGERS!!!

DESTINI HUGHES (10-8-09):
The video shoot was fun! Everyone was acting silly and goofy on set (but in a good way). It showed different personalities in creative ways. I can't wait to see what the video is going to look like when they put everything together!

COACHES' VIDEO SHOOT

Media_http4bpblogspot_cmfqg
BRITTANY CARVALHIDO (10-5-09):

We had some fun in the office this afternoon with a video shoot of our coaching staff. It's a neat project that our Marketing Department is working on to do a special promo via the Internet. Fans will receive the email, type in their name and actually have their name be a part of the commercial! What makes it awesome at LSU is that we have our staff of electronic media guys including Kevin Wagner, John Schiebe and David Landry. They do everything! Including shoot all the coaches shows. Doing thing in house is one of the things that makes LSU special.

SIGNING A FEW AUTOGRAPHS

Media_http1bpblogspot_acteq
BIANCA LUTLEY (9-19-09):
Before the football game with ULL today our team signed autographs. It was my first time with the team though they warned me it would be crazy. As a freshman I am learning everyday how many fans really love our team and today was no different. We signed non-stop up until it was time for us to leave. Thanks to everyone for making our team feel special.
