Ferdinand came off the bench for 19 points, including eight points in the final two minutes, to lead Los Angeles to an 88-84 win over Minnesota on June 13. She drained four free throws in a 12-second span and regained the lead for the Sparks, 87-84, with 17.8 seconds left in the game. Ferdinand has averaged 5.2 points in six games this season.

Sylvia Fowles followed up her WNBA Player of the Week with another solid effort despite the Chicago Sky’s recent two-game skid. Fowles has reached double-figures in all 10 games this season, including 23 points in a loss to Washington on June 11.  Fowles is averaging 19.3 ppg and 8.1 rpg.

Johnson reached double-figures in scoring in all three games last week, including her first double—double of the season with 13 points and 10 assists in a 99-88 win over Minnesota on June 10. The defending champion Phoenix Mercury (5-5) have won consecutive games for the first time all season. Johnson is averaging 11.8 points and 4.7 assists per contest.  She has scored at least 11 points in three straight games.

Seimone Augustus has returned to the WNBA after recovering from three fibroids removed from her abdomen and lower back in April. Augustus played in both contests last week, registering 13 and 16 points, respectively in loses at Phoenix and Los Angeles. Augustus banked a 6-foot shot with 37.3 seconds left to give Minnesota an 84-83 lead but former LSU star Marie Ferdinand-Harris responded by converting four free throws for the Sparks. Augustus remains the WNBA’s all-time leading averaging scorer with 21.1 points in 107 games.
